Stress Management at Southampton, New Forest & London
Stress causes emotional, physiological and psychology effects and is a build up of either internal or external mental pressure. It can cause headaches, anger, upset stomachs, poor sleep patterns, loss of confidence and self esteem, as well as tiredness and fatigue among many others. Stress related illnesses are the biggest cause of lost work days in this country, and someone who is suffering of high levels of stress are putting their health and even their life at risk.
Depending on the type of stress, I will take you through a four session course, and in this you will be shown how to keep the stress you need to operate at an optimum, and how to remove the extra stress that’s causing the problems. Training techniques will leave you relaxed and fully in control of your stress levels. The program is developed to take your personal needs into account, and uses a variety of therapy techniques to make this a complete and lasting form of therapy. In more deep rooted stress, other types of therapy will be used to overcome the root cause of the stress as well as using the above technigues. By lifting your stress, you can enjoy life again.

In primitive times we had an instinctive response kick off any time we faced a danger. This response is called the fight/flight response. A number of chemicals are released into our system to give us the best chance of survival when we either fight the danger, or run away from it. We have no conscious control over this, and it happens before we even intellectually register a danger.
As we developed as a society and we faced less and less real life or death dangers, the fight/flight response started kicking off at ‘perceived’ dangers. So if you were stuck in a traffic jam and late for an appointment, the mind might perceive this as dangerous and start the fight/flight response. The problem in many situations like this, is we can’t fight the problem, and neither can we run away. So we have to stay put, and this is called the freeze response.
The chemicals released in the fight/flight response should only be for a very short period, but because we are in freeze mode, the chemicals are continually being released because the danger is still there. These chemicals start having an adverse effect on us, so we can feel irritable or angry, our muscles may feel tight, we may have headaches or upset stomachs. This is what we term as modern stress.
