Because of the modern rushed life we live, more and more therapists and organisations offer telephone counselling as an alternative to having to find the time to travel to see a therapist/counsellor face-to-face. This means you only have to book the time for the therapy, and not have to allow for what can sometimes be an extra one or two hours of travelling. This is easier and saves having to ask employers for time off.
Telephone counselling works like this;
You pay in advance, for one or numerous sessions, each lasting 50 minuets. You will be given a telephone number to call on the pre-arranged appointment time, and you have that time uninterrupted with your counsellor. At the end of the session you may be given homework or tasks to do during the week depending on what issues you want to resolve.
This gives you a safe and confidential environment to discuss what ever you wish. The same confidentiality and terms are in place just as if you were seeing your counsellor face-to-face.
Some people say it’s not the same as seeing someone in person, but others have said they feel safer on the end of the phone. Whether it’s long travelling time you wish to avoid, or you feel you can open up more on the end of a phone, this may be something you wish to try.
The cost is £45.00 paid in advance for 50 minutes.
Payment
You can pay by credit card, or send cheque/cheques through the post. This can be discussed prior to any arrangement.
