I grew up in a small village surrounded by countryside and it was here I developed my love of nature. I was also surrounded by Aunts, Uncles and Cousins and had sense of freedom in my childhood. At 20 years old, I formed my own business and into my twenties and early thirties worked hard into developing it. Unfortunately in this period I experienced some losses, and emotional upsets and I realised I was suffering with anxiety, depression and some forms of OCD. It was a social anxiety that made me feel worse in life. I hated going to parties, I found it hard to talk to people, and often blushed and tried to avoid any situation I found that made me feel anxious. Not good when you are trying to run your own business!

It was at this time I started to become interested in psychology and entered into some therapy of my own. This helped me overcome many of my difficulties and I eventually went to train and qualify in different psychotherapies until I become a fully recognised and registered therapist and counsellor.

I’ve run my own practice since 2003 and have many thousands of client hours behind me, first in Basingstoke, then London and now in the New Forest area.

I’ll be the first to admit I don’t have every answer and unfortunately, no magic wand. But over the years I’ve help hundreds of people overcome their anxieties and fears, and have a passion of learning and doing more around therapy and working at developing new ways to help overcome anxiety.

In my personal life I’m married, have 5 children. I enjoy walking, reading, writing and kayaking.

I continue to have therapy of my own when the possibility arises as part of my own discovery and development journey, and also continue to train and learn so to keep up with the new ways of working within the therapy world.

I also have supervision to learn and give my clients the best service possible and use my knowledge of therapy , and to be able to personalise the right therapy to the right circumstances and the right way for you.
